Glazed Pecans
What You Will Need:
4 c. Pecans
¾ c. Sugar
½ tsp Salt
2 Egg Whites
1 stick Butter
What You Do:
1. Turn oven on to 350 degrees
2. When oven is heated, put pecans in a Pyrex 9 x 13 casserole dish and put in oven till pecans are roasted.
(about 10 min)
3. Take casserole dish from oven and remove pecans from casserole dish
4. Put the stick of butter in the casserole dish and put in oven until melted.
5. Using a mixer, mix the egg whites, salt, and sugar until it looks like a glaze - About 1 - 2 minutes.
6. Add the toasted pecans to the glaze mixture and stir with a spoon or spatula until mixed.
7. Take dish with butter out of the oven.
8. Add the nut mixture to the casserole dish and mix all around with the butter.
9. Put in oven and cook for 30 min but stir every 10 min (twice)
10.Turn out onto parchment paper. Spread them out as much as you can while still hot. Later, when cooled,
separate them more.
