Glazed Pecans
The Low Down
This recipe came from my grandmother who lived in Elkins WVA not far from a large swiss community. Although she was not one of them, they were gracious and shared their recipes. I don't know if this is one of them but I've been making it for about 30 years and they always get rave reviews and they go very fast.
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees
- 9 x 13 Baking Dish
What You Will Need
4 cups Pecans
3/4 cups Sugar
1/2 tsp Salt
2 Egg Whites
1 stick Butter

What You Do
1. Heat the pecans in the baking dish in the oven for 10 minutes.
2. Remove from dish, melt butter in dish.
3. With a hand mixer, mix the egg whites, sugar and salt
4. Fold the nuts into the egg white mixture
5. Pour nut mixture into pan and mix with melted butter
6. Bake for 30 minutes stirring every 10 minutes.
