How To Cook Perfect White Rice
First you have to know the proportions for cooking rice. It's easy. For every cup of rice use 2 cups of water, 1/2 teaspoon of salt and you're good! So let's start with:
1 c. White Rice
2 c. Water
1/2 tsp. Salt
1. Add Rice & Water & Salt in a saucepan
2. Bring to a boil
3. Reduce to low simmer & cover for 10 min (or until bubbles form)
4. Remove from heat and let sit covered for 5 more minutes
5. Remove lid and fluff with a fork
These are the "bubbles" I'm talking about.

What you do is you set the timer for 10 min. after it comes to a boil.
When the timer goes off, make sure your rice has holes in it or what I call bubbles because the holes are caused by the water level being about an inch or so below the top of the rice and it bubbles up through the rice to make the holes. Now, take it off the heat and let it sit for 5 minutes - covered. Set your timer! |
After it sits for 5 minutes, Take off the lid and fluff it with a fork.
That's all there is to it! Now you know how to make perfect white rice every time.
